Trip Reviews
"I enjoyed my time on the KK and of course the exhilaration of traveling on the Ice with an icebreaker is beyond compare."
Emperors & Kings:
Snow Hill and South Georgia
This one-of-a-kind expedition is the Royal Tour for Penguin lovers. By the time travelers disembark in Stanley, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), they can expect to have encountered Emperor, King, Chinstrap, Adelie, Rockhopper, Magellanic, Gentoo and Macaroni Penguins! This extraordinary voyage will be enriched by special guests, Robert Bateman and Birgit Freybe Bateman, as well as the award winning, film-making team of Doug Allan and Sue Flood.
In August 2009, Sue Flood won first place in the Travel and Tourism Professional category of the International Photography Awards. Her outstanding work was also recognized in the Special Finalist Pro category. Quark Expeditions congratulates Sue, who will share her expertise with travelers on this expedition.
The expedition sails from Ushuaia, Argentina to the Weddell Sea, where you spend 3 days at an Emperor Penguin rookery. After 5 days exploring the natural paradise of South Georgia, the icebreaker crosses the Southern Ocean to the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), the habitat of a rich diversity of bird life, including Albatross and Petrels.
