Quark’s senior historian and former archivist of the Scott Polar Research Institute, Bob Headland has compiled a historical chronology of the Antarctic regions. The harbound volume entitled A Chronology of Antarctic Exploration: A Synopsis of events and activities from the earliest times until the international polar years, 2007-2009 will be published by Bernard Quaritch Ltd. of London in early 2009.

The book will have a comprehensive introduction describing the development and structure of Antarctica. A section includes details of current circumstances, particularly the diplomacy involved with territorial claims, the Antarctic Treaty System, and modern national operations.
