New Books about Antarctica

Two recently released books feature our icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov. The non-fiction title, Antarctica: Exploring a Fragile Eden highlights the history, size and beauty of the continent. The second book, a work of fiction, is for children - Sydney of the Antarctic.

In 2006, award-winning wildlife photographers, Jonathan and Angela Scott, sailed with Quark Expeditions from Ushuaia, Argentina to Lyttelton, New Zealand. That voyage was the culmination of 15 years of annual visits to the White Continent. Their new book, Antarctica: Exploring a Fragile Eden is illustrated with over 130 stunning photographs, some taken during their Quark voyage.

The Scott's book is available through the British bookseller W. H. Smith.

Coral Tulloch, an Australian artist and author, has been a resident artist aboard our ships. During one particular residency, Coral was accompanied by a toy mouse, which inadvertently failed to return with her. That incident was the inspiration for her acclaimed children's book Sydney of the Antarctic.

Coral's book is available through the Australian bookseller Angus & Robertson.
