David Schultz

A native of Michigan, self taught photographer David C. Schultz moved to Dallas at age twenty-two and began his career as a fashion photographer, which he pursued for seven years. Following a visit to Utah on assignment in 1987, he returned to Dallas, closed his studio, and moved to the alpine town of Heber, Utah, where he currently resides. Since moving to Utah, David has concentrated on photographing landscape and wildlife images. His work has appeared in such publications as Travel & Leisure, Snow Country, Cowboys and Indians, Islands, and National Geographic Traveler.

In 1990, David began offering a series of limited edition prints of his favorite images and in the fall of 1998 David opened his own gallery, West Light Images, in Park City, Utah. Known for the vivid colors he captures and his exacting compositions David’s work is now featured in public and private collections around the globe.

Recently David has been spending a great deal of time in Antarctica and the Arctic capturing images for display in his gallery as well as for a book project. David will be joining Quark Expeditions as the “Photographer in Residence” on the October 20th departure to Snow Hill Island making this his fourth voyage “South”.
