During his 20 years in the travel industry, Dale has traveled to five continents, and every country in Europe! His passion for travel began as a teenager when he lived for four months with a Neopolitan family in Southern Italy. While in university, he lived for six months with a family in rural Japan.

"So far, I have been on two Quark voyages: Russia's Far East & Wrangel Island and the very first voyage of Ocean Nova to the Antarctic Peninsula. What engages me about the polar regions is the natural beauty and serenity found there. I'll never forget a moment in a Zodiac as we were cruising Paradise Bay. It was a beautiful sunny day with blue and white ice surrounding us, as if we were in a natural cathedral. The Zodiac driver turned off the engine and asked us to be silent. I found myself kneeling over the Zodiac to look down into the turquoise colored water, and found the reflection of the ice above. The reflection combined with the silence was quite moving and spiritual."
